Our founder, David Langhammer, supported his family by selling gold chains out of the trunk of his car. He spent countless hours driving his 'Distribution Center' throughout the Midwest to call on his customers. David took extreme pride in caring for every one of his customers. However, this admirable practice quickly generated a good news, bad news scenario. His customer base increased, but he outgrew his 'Distribution Center' and couldn't find a car with a bigger trunk. He was forced to change his business model. In 1979, David started Quality Gold and, in the mid-80s, developed a comprehensive product catalog. He learned quickly that these catalogs could cover much more ground than his car. As the business grew, so did the need for quality inventory and manufacturing. Once again-good news, bad news. As the company grew, so did the need for quality inventory. So, in the mid-1980s, the challenge of supplying customers with stock led to the establishment of Quality Gold Manufacturing. This move allowed the company to manufacture high-quality, value-priced products to feature in catalogs and feed the inventory pipeline. By the 1990's David's children, Michael and Jason had joined the company. The focus then shifted from a regional to a national level. A state-of-the-art, systematic process which allows us to ship large volumes of orders daily was implemented. Manufacturing operations and facilities were expanded. David passed away in 2005 but left behind a legacy and vision - If we can stock it or make it and ship it to our customers the same day they order it, they can maintain lower inventory levels AND offer a wider selection of products to their customers.

QG has been making jewelry since the mid-80s. By the early 2000s, demand again required expansion. At the same time, a few reliable vendors wanted to retire and sell equipment. Acquisitions have been a basis and fueled the considerable growth of our manufacturing facilities and operations in the USA and worldwide. An internal design team and product development department are relied upon for new product launches throughout the year. Our USA facilities offer custom services such as engraving and sizing on select products. Using 3-D printing and state-of-the-art lasers, we are forging new ground in personalization and custom on-demand jewelry. QG Refining was formed in 2011. Headquartered and operates in Fairfield, Ohio. Rest assured that every package is processed in our facility. Nothing is outsourced. Pride is taken in managing and documenting the process as it moves through the necessary steps. We possess the equipment, technology, and staff to provide accurate assays and fast payments.
